Water :: Traffic Management Act

The Traffic Management Act (TMA) received Royal Assent on Thursday 22 July 2004. It is intended to provide the basis for better conditions for all road users through the proactive management of the national and local road network.

In our experience, some of the key questions that an organisation should be asking itself can be large – one of our water industry clients estimated that fines alone could be in the region of £20M per annum if not managed proactively. We believe that they can be mitigated by:

  • Implementing a structured transition plan to move to TMA
  • Performing a financial risk analysis of fixed penalty fines by modeling the end-to-end street works process – from initial scheduling through to permanent reinstatement
  • Performing a technical due diligence on the supplier of the noticing package
  • Auditing the current IT estate to identify the areas of greatest risk – for example, lack of integration between the noticing application and job management system.

With its extensive experience within the Energy and Utilities sector Barnsnape believes that it has the track record and the people to help you with these significant challenges. The delivery of technical solutions for a variety of business needs, including the implementation of NRSWA functionality for a major water company.
